Hi there. I'm Steve.

I am 35 and I am a student at the University of Huddersfield where I am studying for a degree in Journalism and Media Production. I have worked for over 11 years in a variety of technical support roles for both the University of Liverpool and NEW College in Pontefract until 2007 when I decided to change my career and focus on perfecting my writing skills.

During my time on the course I have gained experience in the use of AVID, DVC-Pro Cameras. I have worked on a variety of small film projects for clients ranging from community based charities to the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band. I was even fortunate enough to film Michael Parkinson, Dickie Bird and Patrick Stewart during a special graduation ceremony in 2008.

The course also covers radio and print based work. I have been tutored in writing for newspapers and magazines as well as the necessary design skills used in sub-editing. I have used industry standard applications such as Adobe In-design, Dreamweaver and QuarkExpress.

I have had an online presence since 1998, designing basic websites for friends and family and to promote a variety of hobbies to the online community. I have been blogging for over 5 years and I have recently created a website which focusses on my main passion; good local food and farmshops.

I have created this website to promote my skills to a very competitive world and to showcase some of the work I have created over the duration of this course. I am always seeking work experience whether paid or unpaid and I am open to offers of freelance work.
